When Dr. Bernadette Paul’s mother was first diagnosed with high blood pressure, she became very aware of some of the health problems in her community and how they could be treated with proper nutrition. Today, Dr. Bernadette Paul is a public health and nutrition consultant, community specialist, teacher, and a brand new podcast host. She holds a Ph.D. in public health, specializing in health promotion and community health in addition to a Master's in nutrition. She is also a member of the board of directors of the nonprofit organization The Whole Community Incorporated and the chairperson of the Health Committee of the Wooster Orrville NAACP. Today Dr. Paul joins us to share her passion for using nutrition, education, and health promotion to empower families and communities with sustainable methods to eating healthily. Meet Dr. Paul


Dr. Bernadette Paul is a Public Health and Nutrition consultant, health promotion and community specialist, a teacher, an avid health and wellness advocate, a podcast presenter and the CEO and founder of Health Savvy Consulting LLC. She is a certified teacher with more than 30 years of experience in the classroom and in the community, holds a and a Ph.D. in Public Health specializing in Health Promotion and Community Health, in addition to a BSc. and MSc. in Nutrition. Dr. Paul is a higher education faculty, she is also an independent consultant trainer with the Institute of Child Nutrition at the University of Mississippi. Dr. Paul is originally from Guyana, South America and currently lives in Wooster Ohio. In her spare time, Dr. Paul modifies and creates recipes, works with schools, food pantries and community groups to promote healthy eating habits and improve food security. Dr. Paul is a member of the Board of Directors of a non-profit organization “A Whole Community Inc”. She is the chairperson of the health committee of the Wooster/Orrville NAACP, and is also active in the community, collaborating with other professionals to advance social change. Dr. Paul is interested in using nutrition education and health promotion to empower families and communities with sustainable methods to eat healthy.
